The Winnipeg Jets are a professional ice hockey team based in Winnipeg, Manitoba. They are members of the Central Division of the Western Conference of the NHL. The team was originally founded on June 25, 1997, as the Atlanta Thrashers and relocated to Winnipeg in 2011 after being purchased by a group of Canadian investors. The team adopted the Jets name to honor the original Winnipeg Jets franchise that left the city in 1996.

The Jets play their home games at Bell MTS Place, which seats 15,294 spectators. The team has made the playoffs a few times, including a first-round appearance in 2015, where they were swept by the Anaheim Ducks, and reached the Western Conference Final in 2018, losing to the Vegas Golden Knights.

The franchise is owned by True North Sports & Entertainment, which also operates the MTS Centre and the Manitoba Moose of the AHL. The Jets have a notable rivalry with the Minnesota Wild, meeting in the playoffs in 2003 and 2018, with Winnipeg winning both series.
